Welcome to Kearney Faith UMC. I'm Pastor Michelle and I've been here since July 1, 2008. I bring to Faith a strong commitment to meaningful and spiritual worship, United Methodist theology, and a deep love of God and neighbor.
We have two worship times currently at Faith. At 8:45 we have what I call "gospel" worship- lots of singing with our praise band, lots of prayer and a message. It's pretty informal, we're not afraid to laugh, and yet we all leave feeling touched by the Spirit.
Our 11 service is family friendly and multi-generational, with more traditional hymns and music. What matters to me is that you go home with an idea about where God is leading you or your family.
Kearney Faith is also host to Holy Family Ecumenical Catholic Community. They meet on Saturdays at 5:00 p.m. for worship and shared celebration of communion. They offer a service to south Kearney that is liturgically Catholic, welcoming and spirit-filled. Charles Kelliher leads the congregation each week. Anyone- no matter their church background- is invited to attend.
On the last Sunday of each month we host a Community Meal for anyone who would like to come. Our hope is to feed people's spiritual and physical hunger.
For those of you who are into it, I do have a Facebook page that I visit regularly and I hope as things move along on our website that I will be blogging regularly- a Spiritual Discipline for me, and hopefully a new insight for you. I welcome your conversation and your friendship.
